Printing SKU and barcode labels
Print barcode and QR labels for your inventory on roll stock or Avery sheets, set your own item ID format, and scan a label to open the item.
PalmFlow's label station prints barcode or QR labels for the items in your inventory, so a shelf can be scanned instead of read. Labels are an Ultra feature.
Open Labels from the sidebar, pick the items, choose your stock, and print.
Roll or sheet
- Roll stock, for a thermal label printer: 2.25 × 1.25 in, 2 × 1 in, 3 × 1 in, 3 × 2 in, and 4 × 6 in.
- Sheets, for an ordinary printer: Avery-compatible templates including 5160 / 8160, 5163 / 8163, and L7160.
Sheets have a starting position. If you've already peeled six labels off a sheet, tell PalmFlow to start at seven and it leaves the first six blank. You can also set how many copies of each label to print, for multi-quantity items or for labelling both a box and its contents.
What goes on a label
Choose barcode, QR, or both, and toggle which fields appear — SKU, item name, price. Keep it to what you need to identify something at arm's length; a label crowded with text is slower to read than one with three things on it.
Codes are generated from the item's real identifier, so they scan. Your saved layout is kept with the workspace, which means the next print run matches the last one without setting it up again.
Your item ID format
Item codes are yours to shape, under Workspace settings:
- Sequential or random.
- An optional prefix, so codes read as yours.
- A separator, and a length between 4 and 12 characters.
The next code in the sequence is previewed live as you change the settings. Sequential codes are easier to read aloud and file; random ones don't tell a buyer how many items you've ever had.
Scanning a label back
A QR label encodes a link to that item. Point any phone camera at it — no app needed — and the item opens in PalmFlow. Barcode labels work with the built-in scanner and with USB or Bluetooth hardware scanners; see Barcode scanning.
That round trip is the point of the whole feature: a bin you can point a phone at and immediately know what's in it and what it cost.

Can PalmFlow print barcode labels for inventory?
Yes. PalmFlow prints barcode or QR labels for any item, on continuous roll stock for a thermal printer or on Avery-compatible sheets for a regular printer. Label printing is an Ultra feature.
Can I start printing part-way down a label sheet?
Yes. Set the starting position and PalmFlow leaves the used labels blank, so a partly used Avery sheet isn't wasted.
