Notifications: what PalmFlow tells you, and where

PalmFlow can tell you when something happens — an item sells, a parcel is delivered, stock runs low, a listing stalls — through three channels you control independently.

Settings for all of it live under Settings → Notifications.

The three channels

• In-app — the bell in the header. It keeps the complete record whatever else is switched off, which is why it's the one to leave on.
• Email — off until you turn it on, and then only two things ever reach your inbox: a new order, and a marketplace sync failing. There is no daily or weekly digest and there won't be one.
• Web push — a real notification on your phone or desktop, even with PalmFlow closed. Push is part of the paid plans.

A channel is a master switch: turn one off and nothing goes out that way.

What it can tell you about

Events sit in four groups, so you can switch a whole category off without picking through it, or open one and choose event by event:

• Orders — received, marked shipped, delivered, a tracking exception, a cancellation, a return.
• Sales — an item sold, and buyer feedback arriving.
• Inventory — stock running low, and items sitting past their SLA.
• System — an integration connected or disconnected, a sync failing or finishing, a teammate invited or joining, a CSV import completing.

These choices apply to every channel at once. A group you've customized says so from the outside — "4 of 6 on" — so you don't have to open all four to find the one you changed.

Quiet hours

Set a window and push notifications hold until it ends. A marketplace sale at 3am is a notification you don't need, and one 3am buzz is usually enough to make someone switch push off entirely.

Three things worth knowing:

• Any hour can be either end. Night shift, split sleep, a long afternoon away from the desk — all twenty-four are available at both ends of the window, and a window that crosses midnight works normally.
• It runs on the timezone saved to your profile, not on whichever device you happen to be holding. So the window means the same thing when you're travelling, and the settings page names the timezone it's using.
• Only push is held. The in-app bell keeps collecting the whole time, so nothing is missed — it's waiting for you when the window ends.

Your push devices

Push is registered per device, not per account: the browser or phone you turned it on from is the one that receives. Settings → Notifications lists every device currently registered, what it is, and when it last received something.

That matters when you change laptop or sell a phone — the old one goes on receiving your sales until it's removed. Remove any device from that list and it stops immediately; to bring it back, turn push on again from the device itself.

There's a Send a test button on the same card, which is the quickest way to confirm push is really working before you rely on it.

Push on a phone

Web push works on Android and desktop browsers straightforwardly. On iPhone, you must add PalmFlow to your Home Screen first — iOS only delivers web push to installed web apps, so nothing will arrive in an ordinary Safari tab. Open PalmFlow in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen, and open it from there.

A few privacy-hardened browsers strip the push service entirely — LibreWolf, Tor Browser, and some de-Googled Chromium builds among them. Push cannot work there; email or the in-app bell will.

Common questions

Can PalmFlow notify me when an item sells?

Yes. Sale notifications can arrive in the app, by email, or as a web push to your phone or desktop. Push notifications are part of the paid plans.

Does PalmFlow have quiet hours?

Yes. Set a window under Settings → Notifications and push notifications hold until it ends. Any hour of the twenty-four can be the start or the end, the window runs on the timezone saved to your profile rather than whichever device you happen to be holding, and the in-app bell keeps collecting the whole time — so a 3am sale is waiting for you in the morning instead of waking you up.

Can I stop PalmFlow notifications going to an old phone or laptop?

Yes. Settings → Notifications lists every browser and phone registered for push on your account, with when each one was last used, and removes any of them on the spot. That device stops receiving notifications immediately.

What does PalmFlow send email about?

Two things only: a new order, and a marketplace sync failing. Email is off until you switch it on, and there is no daily or weekly digest — everything else stays in the app.

Do PalmFlow push notifications work on iPhone?

Yes, once you add PalmFlow to your iPhone's Home Screen. iOS only delivers web push to installed web apps, so notifications will not arrive in a normal Safari tab.
