    Migrating fromFlipwise to PalmFlow

A guide on how to quickly switch from Flipwise to PalmFlow.

    Introduction

If you're considering moving from Flipwise to PalmFlow, you're in the right place. Flipwise is a genuinely good eBay bookkeeping tool with an export to match — a single download can carry your inventory, your sales, and your expense ledger at once. This guide maps Flipwise's concepts onto PalmFlow's and walks through the move step by step.

    Jump ahead

    Background

    • Flipwise is eBay-native bookkeeping for resellers — cost of goods, net profit, sell-through, and tax-report totals, all built on a deep eBay API integration. Its end-and-relist tooling preserves a listing's history on eBay, which is a genuinely specialized piece of eBay knowledge.
    • Flipwise prices by size. The free tier covers up to 24 listings for new members; paid tiers are metered on your total active listings plus whatever sold in the last 30 days; stores past 25,000 listings are quoted individually.
    • PalmFlow launched in 2026. It's a reseller operations platform — inventory, orders, cost basis, and P&L on server-side eBay and Shopify sync — with flat tiers instead of a bill that climbs with your listing count.

    Concepts

Flipwise records what your eBay store did. PalmFlow records that too, then runs the physical side of the business around it. Here's the mapping.

    Before you start

Flipwise exports well, so this is mostly about knowing which download to take.

    • A Flipwise login. The export isn't plan-gated.
    • Your eBay account credentials.
    • A PalmFlow account. The CSV importers are part of Pro.
    • Ten minutes of patience — Flipwise processes the export and notifies you when it's ready rather than downloading it on the spot, so start it early and connect eBay while it runs.

    Moving your data

Flipwise has the cleanest export of any tool in this list: one download can carry inventory, sales, and your ledger together. Take that one.

    1. 1

      Export everything from Flipwise

Flipwise can export whatever index view you're looking at, filters and all — but there's a faster route that packages the whole business in a single download.

      1. Sign in to Flipwise and open your Income Statement.
      2. Set the range to All Time.
      3. Download it. You'll get a zip containing your inventory, your sales, and your Flipwise Ledger expenses as separate CSV files.
      4. If you'd rather take one slice at a time instead, any inventory index screen has a gray Export button in the top right — click it, review the preview, then click Export CSV.
      5. Either way Flipwise notifies you by email or in-app when the file is ready. Large stores take a few minutes.

Per-view exports honor whatever search, filters, and sorting are active on that screen — which is useful on purpose and painful by accident. Clear your filters before exporting unless you're deliberately slicing.

    2. 2

      Connect eBay to PalmFlow

Do this while the export processes. It brings your live listings across and starts orders flowing server-side.

      1. In PalmFlow, open Settings → Integrations.
      2. Find eBay and click Connect, then authorize on eBay's own sign-in page.
      3. Choose the eBay marketplace you actually sell on.
      4. Let the first sync finish — active listings arrive as items with titles, prices, and quantities.
      5. Connect Shopify the same way if you run a store.

PalmFlow's eBay connection also reaches back roughly two years for order history, so some of what's in your Flipwise sales export may already be here by the time you import it. Duplicate order numbers are skipped, so the overlap is harmless either way.

    3. 3

      Import the inventory file

Unzip the export first — the inventory CSV is the one to start with, because imported sales link back to items that already exist.

      1. Go to Inventory and click Import CSV, then choose the inventory file.
      2. Read the preview: new items, sold rows that will become orders, duplicates it will skip, and every column it matched or ignored.
      3. Check that your purchase-price column shows as matched — PalmFlow reads purchase price, cost, cogs, and cost of goods as the same field.
      4. Check the sample rows underneath, which show your first few items exactly as parsed.
      5. Confirm.

Flipwise's export carries eBay item IDs and order IDs. PalmFlow deliberately doesn't read an eBay item number as a SKU — on eBay that's the listing ID, not your label — so if you keep your own SKUs, make sure that column is headed sku or custom label.

    4. 4

      Import sales and the ledger

The other two files in the zip go to their own importers, so your history and your overheads land where they belong.

      1. Import the sales CSV from Orders → Import CSV. Rows sharing an order number become one order with several lines, the way a real multi-item sale works.
      2. Import the Ledger CSV from Expenses → Import CSV. Negative amounts — how most exports write a debit — come in as costs.
      3. Both importers cap at 2,000 rows per file. Split a long history by year rather than risking a half-finished import.

Importing the same sales file twice is safe: orders already carrying that order number are skipped, and the count is reported back to you.

    5. 5

      Check the numbers

Reconcile against a period Flipwise already gave you an answer for. This is the step that tells you the migration worked.

      1. Open Reports and set the range to last tax year.
      2. Compare revenue, cost of goods, and net profit against Flipwise's tax report totals for the same year.
      3. Spot-check three sold items end to end — sale price, fees, cost, and profit.
      4. Undo any import in one click from the result message if something needs fixing, then rerun.

    Troubleshooting

The questions that actually come up partway through a move from Flipwise.

    My export never arrived.

Flipwise processes exports in the background and notifies you by email or in-app rather than downloading immediately, and a large store can take a few minutes. Check the in-app notification as well as your email, including spam.

I only got part of my inventory.

A per-view export respects whatever search, filters, and sorting were active on that screen. Clear the filters and export again — or use the Income Statement route with the range set to All Time, which packages everything in one zip.

My purchase price column was ignored in the preview.

PalmFlow matches columns by name and skips what it doesn't recognize rather than guessing. Rename the column to cost, cogs, purchase price, or cost of goods and import again. Nothing was written, so there's nothing to undo.

Should I import sales or inventory first?

Inventory first, always. Imported sales link back to items that already exist, so doing it the other way round leaves your history unattached to your stock.

What happens to my Flipwise tax reports?

They stay in Flipwise. Export the tax-report files for the years you care about before you cancel — you'll want them as records regardless of which tool you end up on.

    Pricing

Flipwise meters by size; PalmFlow's tiers are flat and count only active items, so sold and archived stock drops out of the count and importing years of history never eats your allowance. Prices as of July 2026.

    Entry paid tier$19.99/mo at 100–499 active listings + 30 days of salesPro — $19.99/mo, 500 active items
How it scalesThe tier climbs with your listing countFlat — the tier doesn't move until you cross the item limit
Very large storesCustom pricing past 25,000 listingsUltra — $39.99/mo, unlimited items (Enterprise sits above, for multi-store teams)
    CSV import/exportIncludedIncluded in Pro

Flipwise counts active listings plus whatever sold in the last 30 days, so a good month can move your bill. PalmFlow counts active items only.

PalmFlow annual billing drops Pro to $15.99 and Ultra to $31.99.

    Conclusion

Flipwise exports better than almost anything else in this category, so the move is three files and an eBay connection. Import inventory, then sales, then the ledger, reconcile against last year's tax totals, and you're running on a flat bill with a full operations layer around the books.

An honest caveat: Flipwise's eBay integration goes deeper than ours in one specific place — end-and-relist that preserves a listing's history. If that's central to how you run your store, weigh it seriously. The sellers who gain from switching want physical inventory with bin locations, teams, and a bill that doesn't climb with their listing count.
